Facts, Myths and Tips about caring for your baby
Both as a mother and as a healthcare professional I have studied books, pamphlets and leaflets advising parents, particularly mothers, how to bring up happy, healthy children. These provide a valuable service to new parents, complimenting the additional advice they get from their own parents, grandparents, friends and well-wishers. However all this information can be extremely daunting and confusing. Sometimes one piece of advice contradicts another and, quite frankly some of it is just plain misleading, even wrong! Also new parents often do not have the time to plough through all the information available.
My Pocket Health Visitor seeks to carve through this complexity and present the key aspects of caring for baby in plain language. So, I have tried to keep the Facts, Myths and Tips as brief and to-the-point as possible. I have also allowed plenty of space for parents to write down what works for them. Every baby and every family is unique and there really is no single way to do everything.
I hope you find this helpful. Best wishes to your new family.
